Our newly renovated Sheltered Care and Nursing Care wings are now officially open!
The first phase of our renovation is complete. We have begun moving new residents to the renovated wings. We currently have immediate availability.
Sheltered Care
Sheltered Care is similar to Assisted Living but with a couple of differences. In Sheltered Care, there is a nurse available 24 hours a day. With a Sheltered Care license, we are also able to provide more support than in an Assisted Living which means that residents can often age in place longer. Sheltered Care provides a range of services from light support to help with most daily living tasks.
Our renovation in Sheltered Care included new wainscoting, paint, ceiling, carpet and other updated finishes that freshen up the hallway. All resident rooms were also renovated with new finishes. Our schoolhouse lighting is a nod to the lighting that The Scottish Home had when it first opened over 100 years ago. The new spa room is an upgraded, calming space that will enhance the bathing experience for residents.
Intermediate Care
Our McMillan Wing is located in our nursing home. Licensed as Intermediate Care, our care model is very similar to our Skilled Nursing the Georgeson Wing – it’s the same great nursing care for those who don’t have medically complex needs but still need a high level of personal and nursing care.
Our newly renovated McMillan Wing feels fresh, light and airy with a color palette inspired by our beautiful wooded campus. The hallway and and all resident rooms were renovated including both finishes and furniture.
Our first phase of enhancements also included some important changes that can’t be seen. Our new Wi-Fi system helps connect residents to their families and strengthens our connection for our internal systems and programs. A robust new nurse call system enables us to even better respond to residents’ needs. A new roof over our heads and fire safety system help keep everyone safe.
